Model portfoliosWhat dose it take to be a successful model? Be in front of the camera every chance you get! We understand what it takes to become a model and how hard it is to get paying assignments! Getting paid to be a model dose not happen over night! It takes a lot of work and DEDICATION! Yes. there are the rare cases where people get discovered and get good paying assignments from the start; it can happen to a small percentage of people. The other percentage of people, will have to work at it, unfortunately. How do you work at it? You work at becoming a model by getting your photo taken as much as you can, even if it means your new modeling career dose not pay as much as you would like or not at all. You must promote yourself by showing what you can do and you are not going to be able to do that, if you are not in front of the camera often. Over the 28 years we have been in the photography field, we have worked with a lot of models. Some tall, some short, some pretty, some not, some big, some little. We never know what request will come in next! Tomorrow, someone may need a shot of an old man standing in the rain or a girl dressed up like a hippy. One thing is for sure; we never would have worked with those models, if they did not promote themselves by showing what they can do with a very versatile portfolio. A portfolio can consist of paid shots as well as non-paid shots and like modeling, dose not happen over night. As a photographic agency, we like to see portfolios of at least 30 different shots. This tells a lot about the model! The model likes doing what he or she is doing and they are dedicated which, means they are more likely to show up for an assignment, when booked for one. If you are interested in starting a modeling career and would like to know how to go about building a portfolio of your own, give us a call. ![]() |
